Mushroom Festival 2009- A Party of Portabella Proportions
Every year mushroom lovers gather from every end of the country (and in some cases, the world!) to celebrate in a small town in central Pennsylvania. Kennett Square. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more charming expression of Americana than this bucolic little town. But once a year it’s not so little. 
As the mushroom capital of the country, you could say they take National Mushroom Month quite seriously with the annual Mushroom Festival. Here’s a quick peak into this year’s festivities.
A Mushroom soup cook-off, many mushroom -themed wares for sale and even a parade with an appearance from local ABC News anchor, Erin Grow (pictured at right with Mr. Mushroom).
One of the most exciting appearances at the 2009 festival stemmed from not one but TWO Top Chef contenders- Miguel Morales and Carla Hall. Carla has contributed to the Mushroom Channel a few times and it’’s always great to see her but we were even happier to see she’s brought another famous friend along…keep up the great work!
